WisCaregiver Careers and NorthCentral FSET have partnered with area employers to bring you the opportunity to earn money while earning your CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification! Training is provided by the following employers:

Certified Nursing Assistant is one of the fasting-growing careers in our region due to an increased number of CNAs retiring from the work force as well as an increased demand for skilled nursing professionals at hospitals, clinics and other health care areas.

There is a significant shortage of commercial truck drivers. It is a career that offers high pay and good benefits. There are both over-the-road (overnight travel) and local positions available.
Fox Valley Technical College offers CDL Straight Truck and Truck Driving Programs. To learn more about the program, click HERE.
Northcentral Technical College offers a CDL program, based at its Merrill campus location. It is a 9-credit, semester-long training program and provides a behind-the-wheel driving experience. This program is perfect for a person who has never been behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer. To learn more about the program, click HERE.
There are 2 main approaches:
1.) Karl's Transport pays tuition for Karl's CDL School with 240k mile commitment as an employee of Karl's Transport following completion. Training is paid with this option as customer is considered an employee.
2.) Student pays tuition for CDL training through Karl's CDL School with no requirement to work at Karl's Transport upon training completion.

Roehl Transport is a company located at 1916 E 29th St, Marshfield, WI 54449. They pay newly-hired employees to complete the CDL training and pay for the exam. For more information on the program and hiring process, click HERE. You can also call them at 800-535-0269.
The NorthCentral Region has many employers who are in need trained welders. All three technical colleges offer short-term training and degree-level welding programs. FSET may able to help fund the short-term programs that are not eligible for financial aid.

- Gas Tungsten Arc (Stainless Steel) Welding - 1 semester (6 credits)
- Welding Technical Diploma - 1 year (28 credits)
Northcentral Technical College, Wausau
- Full Welding Program - 1 year (35 credits)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding - 1 semester (13 credits)
- Gas Tungsten (Stainless Steel) Arc Welding - 1 semester (12 credits)
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding - 1 semester (9 credits)
Nicolet College, Rhinelander
- Gas Metal Arc Welding - 1 semester (8 credits)
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding - 1 semester (6 credits)
- Welding Program - 1 year (30 credits)
Advanced Welding Institute, Eagle River
This private training provider offers four short-term (40 hours) welding programs, plus a full Welding program (600 hours). FSET may be able to fund any of the short-term programs below:
Adding a license or certificate to your resume increases your job opportunities. FSET may be able to help you gain the following quick certifications. Many can be earned in just a few hours.
Alcohol Server training is required to get your bartender license in Wisconsin and is often required for waiters/waitresses who serve alcoholic drinks.
Alcohol Seller training is required for managers and cashiers who work at a business that sells alcohol (such as a grocery store or convenience store).
Food Handler certification provides training on safe food handling practices that comply with Wisconsin law and regulations.
Food Manager trainings provide more intensive training to help workers gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful manager in the food service industry.
